The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Telegraph today launched the Join Our Safari campaign in partnership with Taronga Zoo. The month long campaign will include paper animal collectibles called The Taronga Wild Bunch Collection, reader competitions, subscription offers, in-paper editorial and bespoke digital content.
The Taronga Wild Bunch Collection, supported by Kleenex Cottonelle, will be available from Sunday 21 June to Saturday 27 June with a different paper endangered animal free with the paper each day. The animals will be printed on recycled gloss quality 200gsm A3 paper for readers to cut out and build. The Wild Bunch app will also be available free from the App Store or Google Play Store to bring the paper animals to life using 3D modelling and augmented reality. The app scans the animal’s face to launch an interactive world featuring the real life species that the Wild Bunch represents. Each animal will showcase their own unique movements, sounds and fun facts to further educate readers on the specific animal. To encourage readers to collect all 7 animals the full collection will unlock a special feature on the final day.
Readers will also have the opportunity to win a ‘Roar and Snore’ for 5 people while a subscription acquisition offer will give the first 400 new subscribers the chance to win a double pass to Taronga Zoo. The Daily Telegraph will host on-ground activations at Taronga Zoo Sydney on selected weekends throughout June, including The Daily Telegraph Relax & Recharge Zone.
